Global Friendship Through Space Education

Global Friendship Through Space Education (GFTSE) is a California-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting international friendship through interactive space education via internet, videoconferencing and participation in the 6-Day International Summer Camp at Space Camp Turkey.

By awarding scholarships, GFTSE provides young people a unique opportunity to attend a Space Camp summer program specifically designed for international youth, ages 9-15. Participating students are selected in their respective countries based on an essay, English proficiency, financial need and exceptional grades.

  Partner School Science Program

GFTSE`s Partner School Science Program currently connects teachers and students from the United States, Turkey, Bulgaria and Israel through space education to expand their knowledge of math and science. Collaborative research and hands-on science and math activities are intended to promote cross-cultural understanding and global friendship.

  Ellis Island Award and GFTSE

The National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations Foundation (NECO) awarded our founder, Kaya Tuncer, the 2004 Ellis Island Medal of Honor at a gala ceremony on New York City’s Ellis Island for his contributions to international peace. Tuncer was specifically recognized for his philanthropic work with GFTSE, which connects international youth with their peers through space education. Tuncer was nominated by former medalist and Greek-American businessman Michael F.Parlamis.
