Space Camp Turkey counselor performs for the Queen

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip examined projects by Famelab Science Communicators and Kabatas High School students, who are competing in a science contest organized by Middle East Technical University and the British Council.

The idea of the competition, based on the model originally created by the UK's Cheltenham Science Festival, is to take science out of the classroom and make it fun, and to encourage young people with a passion for science and technology to share their enthusiasm with the general public. FameLab, a UK talent organization, was established in 2005 and aims to find the best new talent in science communication.

Ridvan Yilmaz participated in the Famelab science competition contest and was chosen as a “Famelab Science Communicator”.

Yilmaz performed a physics experiment for Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip during their visit to Kabatas High School on May 15th.
