Established in 2000 as an ESBAŞ initiative in the Aegean Free Zone (İzmir), Space Camp Türkiye has become a unique platform where science, imagination, and international friendship meet.
Over the past 25 years, we've welcomed participants from 60 countries, offering hands-on training in space science, teamwork, and problem-solving skills — all while nurturing a lifelong passion for discovery.
“Campers from Türkiye and around the world came together, worked as a team to complete missions, and formed lasting friendships. For many, this experience deeply shaped their lives,” said Mary Tuncer, Honorary Chair of ESBAŞ.
“The original vision came from Kaya Tuncer and İsmail Akbay, who believed in igniting young people’s curiosity for science and the future. Today, that vision lives on stronger than ever,” added Deniz Tuncer, Chair of the ESBAŞ Board.
Over the years, we've proudly hosted astronauts, cosmonauts, ambassadors, and leaders from around the globe — connecting young people to real role models and real dreams.
Space Camp Türkiye continues to be a bridge between cultures, disciplines, and generations.
To our educators, staff, alumni, and supporters — thank you for believing in the power of science education.
Here's to reaching even more young explorers in the next 25 years!
